International speaker, trainer, and award winning consultant, Gary Lear is the President & CEO of Resource Development Systems, an organizational performance consulting firm that helps organizations increase performance by helping them to be successful at managing the human side of businesssm

Gary is a 17 year veteran of the Florida Department of Corrections, a 35,000 person organization, serving his last 6 years exclusively in staff development and training.  He was a division chief at the Florida Corrections Academy for 3 years, and served his last three years as a regional training and development manager, providing for the development needs of 9000 employees and overseeing the delivery of over 650,000 training hours annually in his region.

Gary has also served as the General Manager for the ETS Literacy Services, a division at Educational Testing Service in Princeton , NJ , which is the world’s largest and most prestigious testing and assessment organization. 

Gary earned his BS in Psychology at Stetson University and did his master’s work at the University of Central Florida in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.  Gary has served as an adjunct instructor at Daytona Beach and Lake City Community Colleges, and is currently an adjunct instructor for the Institute of Certified Professional Managers at James Madison University in Harrisonburg , Virginia .

Gary possesses a number of instructor and consultant certifications.  He is one of less than 100 people world-wide that have achieved certification by Inscape Publishing, the original publisher of DiSC® based assessments, as an Inscape Publishing Certified DiSC® Trainer.

Since starting Resource Development Systems in 1997, Gary has worked with a variety of government, non-profit, and for profit organizations, including developing culturally sensitive programs for the US Department of Justice and providing leadership development for the US Army and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company in the United Arab Emirates .  His Seven Elements of High Performance™ was recently chosen by the US Navy’s Center for Naval Leadership to be included in their officer leadership curriculum.

Gary has authored a number of articles, is a contributing author to the book 180 Ways to Walk the Customer Service Talk, and is working on his forthcoming book Leadership Lessons from the Medicine Wheel.

Memberships:  Gary serves on the board of directors or as a member for a variety of organizations.  Some of these include: American Society for Training & Development; Society for Human Resource Management; American Management Association; Chamber of Commerce; Adult Community Educator’s Association; International Association of Correctional Training Personnel; Florida Council on Crime and Delinquency; Friends of Alligator Lake; and the First American Cultural and Education Preservation Association. 

 Published Writings: Gary is a prolific writer and has made a variety of contributions to professional journals, newspapers and internet venues, in addition to writing his own newsletters.  Some particular writings and articles include:

Gary is an American Indian, and as such, often incorporates traditional American Indian teachings and philosophies into some of his programs.  Our Team Adventures, Adventures in Attitudes, as well as our Strategic Planning, Management and Leadership Development Processes are prime areas for some of these teachings.  He also heads up our efforts in bringing these philosophies to organization development by assisting them to deal with change and finding balance, which are key issues for High Performing Organizations.  He is also available for Keynote Addresses on these topics.

 


wpe44.jpg (3040 bytes)     Ann Lear is the Executive Vice President of Resource Development Systems LLC, a strategic learning consulting firm which helps bring new approaches to enhancing personal and organizational effectiveness.   As the Chief Operations Officer, Ann is responsible for the daily functioning of RDS, including e-commerce operations, learning center technical operations, and RDS’ Adult Literacy and Education Division, with major focus on working with various educational systems and welfare-to-work programs to provide them with state-of-the-art learning systems.  Ann also offers one-on-one coaching, helping executives and managers to increase their effectiveness.

Ann has over 17 years of experience in personal coaching, client and customer management, program design and implementation, learning design, and staff and organizational development.  She has extensive experience in the educational arena, and worked with a variety of industries developing their workforce. 

Ann possesses a Bachelor of Education from the University of Central Florida.  She did her internship in Seminole and Volusia Counties in Florida.  She has spoken at numerous community organizations, and served for two years as chairperson of the Baker County Adult Literacy Council.

Awards: 

Outstanding Leadership Award in TQM from the State of Florida in 1995

State Service Award and recognition from Governor Lawton Chiles for a program developed in 1996

1st place Award for Outstanding Service and Achievement from the Florida Chapter of the International Association of Personnel in Employment & Security in 1996

Special recognition by Kentucky’s Governor Paul Patton in 2000 for RDS’ work with Adult Education Programs and enhancing their organizational effectiveness.
